THE TABLOIDS HAVE OPINIONS THEY THINK I NEED,
THINKING I’LL BELIEVE EVERYTHING I READ,
DUMB IT DOWN, SPICE IT UP, DONE DIRTY DEED.

STORIES SEEM TO FIT THE HEADLINES MADE,
THEY WON’T LET THE FACTS GET IN THE WAY,
NO MATTER WHAT, THEY’LL PRINT IT ANYWAY.

THE MEDIA DON’T WANT IT TO BE KNOWN,
THEY’RE TRYING TO MAKE YOUR MIND THEIR OWN.

THE TV NEWS TELLS ME WHO TO BLAME,
SOCIAL NETWORKS, THEY’RE ALL DOING THE SAME,
EVEN SNOWFLAKES GETTING IN ON THE GAME.

BUILDING PEOPLE UP, JUST TO SHOOT ‘EM DOWN,
DIGGING DIRT WHEREVER IT’S TO BE FOUND,
JUDGE AND JURY, NOBODY THEY WON’T HOUND.

THE MEDIA DON’T WANT IT TO BE KNOWN,
THEY’RE TRYING TO MAKE YOUR MIND THEIR OWN.

CHASE A STORY DOWN, TRY’N FIND A LINK,
THERE’S NOTHING THAT FLOATS, THAT THEY CAN’T SINK,
THEN THEY’RE GONNA TELL YOU WHAT TO THINK.

IT’S HARD TO TELL THE TRUTH FROM THE SPIN,
IT’S WHERE THE STORY GOES, NOT WHERE IT’S BEEN,
THEY’RE ‘HOLIER THAN THOU’ AND THAT’S THE SIN.

THE MEDIA DON’T WANT IT TO BE KNOWN,
THEY’RE TRYING TO MAKE YOUR MIND THEIR OWN,
THEY’RE SLOWLY TAKING OVER ALL CONTROL,
OF ALL THE THINGS WE THINK, WE FEEL AND KNOW.
